This book presents succesfull open spaces throughout Europe, designed by well-known landscape architects, in places and cities such as Kalmar and Kabelvag, London and Barcelona. They were chosen by the editorial staff of the specialist journal Topos: International Review of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from projects completed between 2000 and 2005.
This selection of the best landscape architecture projects of the new millennium arranges them in four chapters. The exemplary parks, squares, waterfront promenades and memorials attest to the abundance and variety of the European landscape architecture scene as well as to the high status of the profession, which has developed in many european countries into a leading urban design discipline.
